Have you heard about gluebooks? If not, do the google. Gluebooks are books that are composed of everyday objects, it's like street art journal style. Pages can be made of anything.
I am really interested in carving out some time each day to do art, and would love to start an online and offline space around which to do it. This time would be later turned into the time where I do artsy mama things in my area. Just, baby step with me. ;)
Drop me a line if you'd like to be in on it. I think it wou…

Sorry to all of my e-friends, the ones I talk to online, but I've been gone. I know this. And I'm sorry for my absence. I really thought things would slow down, but they just aren't. I wake up, I do the normal things, then it's time for lunch, then time to get Fiona from school, then we come home and talk about the day, then Derek comes home we have dinner we watch Dr. Who and we go to bed.
In there I work my business... www.longaberger.com/normadycus. Other than that, it seems like nothing get…

Things are looking up for now! Everything is still the same but a little different! I went to the lunch Dr and he went in and didn't find any corn but found some places of concern! Long story short in my lungs there is areas that the air can't though as easily as it needs too and I need medicines to help keep them open! But not all the time! With my weight and health it will come and go! GREAT right! Well I was just glad it wasn't cancer or something!
Now we are getting ready to head back to sc…

I learned today that a mom in my local social network has cancer.
Cancer?
Yes.
A lump in her throat turned into more.
I am lost in this. I can't imagine how lost she is in the whole situation. Apparently in the past she had cancer in a leg or both... I'm not sure on details.
I know people survive cancer. But I know it's terrifying. And that makes perfect sense to me. We like to think we are our bodies, not somehow separated. Knowing something is in your body making you sick... or worse that…

It's so nice to make new friends and find that they're just enough like you and have sweet kids and everyone mixes well... instead of the typical "the mom's get along but the children don't" or "one husband is weird about something" or just... something.
Not that I have to have carbon copy identical-to-me friends. That's kinda, well, boring. But a couple of good friends that are enough like you that you don't feel you have to police yourself? Awesome.
So today I'm thinking about how much we're…

June hasn't started out to be good for me and my family! Ever think man the whole world is again me? Well, that is me right now! June 1st started out my NEW washer went out and I had to buy a new one! Then my step-dad (over the road truck driver) had to be rushed to the hospital cause he was throwing up blood and had to be put in the hospital so they could find out what was wrong with him and they found he had a bleeding ulcer and a tear in his throat where he had gotten so sick!
So that meant t…

I've been awake since just before 4 am. It's now nearly 6. I'm waiting for the familiar sounds of my family waking up on this Friday.
What did I do for those two hours?
I watched my husband sleep. If I get out of bed he can feel it somehow and won't be able to sleep. So instead of robbing him of a night he needs (tonight he has to write papers for his graduate degree, so, there won't be much sleeping) I laid there.
I *hate* laying there. All the questions with no answers come to the surface.…

I am a butterfly,
hovering for a moment; for a lifetime
I stretch my wings
feeling love and life for the first time
I cast off
the cocoon of doubt, old despair
and reach out: for once, forever
on the air that fills my soul
and see me dance in the sun
racing to the many-colored flowers
bringing a kaleidoscope of possibilities
how can I settle on one?
So I dance
and flit, and fly
and every flower I touch
feels like a gift from God
and every flower
is touched by an angel
and I pull the necta…

cradle me
I want to be held.
I want to look into your eyes and know that you see me.
kiss me softly
brush your fingers through my hair
whisper tenderly without words that there is a tomorrow
this is not a poem
this is not quilt
this is just me
I am selfish.
I am sorry
I am just a child

The dusk will claim another day
In the meadow the fireflies play
Upon the breeze the night music sails
The crickets and the nightingales
The melodies of the moonlight
Sooths the soul into the night
The enchanting glow of sequined skies
The the dreams that lay behind closed eyes
At dawn the dreams will fade away
And in there place a brand new day

It's since been shown to be a hoax but it does promote a discussion. I have to thank my friend Lillie for bringing this to my attention when she visited me during "grrrrl party".
Read this, and tell me, what do you think? An artist promotes abortions and uses the blood to create art. More than that, an artist *claims* to it, but instead creates work from menstrual fluid.
